Matthew Lillard and Deborah Kara Unger star in the thriller Messages Deleted written by Larry Cohen (Phonebooth/Cellular) and produced by Waterfront Pictures
Production began on July 20, 2008 in Vancouver, BC on the thriller Messages Deleted starring Matthew Lillard (Scream, Thirteen Ghosts, Scooby Doo) and Deborah Kara Unger (The Hurricane, White Noise). Keeping with his theme of phones Messages Deleted was written by Larry Cohen of Phonebooth and Cellular fame. Production will continue through to August 13,2008 with the film set to be released in spring 2010.
Synopsis:
A quivering voice begs screenwriter, Joel Brandt (Matthew Lillard), to pick up the phone on a message from his answering machine. Thinking it's a prank, Joel deletes the message. The caller is found dead. Another caller leaves Joel a message; there is another murder...then another...then another. The killer has Joel's attention, and Joel has the attention of the police. Now the prime suspect of Det. Lavery (Deborah Kara Unger) in a series of murders, Joel discovers this psychotic killer has targeted him for a reason found within his body of work. Will Joel be able to re-write his ending, or be forced to pay the ultimate price?
Messages Deleted is being produced by the independent production company Waterfront Pictures whose headquarters are located in Vancouver, BC and Executive Producer David Doerksen. Established in May 2002 Waterfront Pictures has been involved in the production of over 25 feature films, animations and television movies.
